What kind of products are used?
All products are of a professional standard and have not been tested on animals.

Do I need to have a large space at home to have the treatment?
Not at all, with me I will bring usually a chair no bigger than your average garden lounger and a stool so that I can be sat directly in front of you. For some forms of massage I will bring a massage table which is approximately 2m x 1m. Again there will be a need for a stool at the end so as long as you have a space of this size in a living/dining area then that’s absolutely fine.

Can anyone have a facial treatment?
Predominantly yes. If you have extremely sensitive skin or allergies to any skincare products then it is best to mention this at the time of booking so that the appropriate creams can be brought to the treatment.

Can anyone have a manicure and/or pedicure?
Yes. The only restrictive factors to a manicure or pedicure are if you have severe arthritis, even in this instance a treatment is usually possible and the massage given during a treatment will often leave the hands/feet feeling more relaxed and in better condition. If you have any nail disorders or severe eczema or athletes foot etc then again, mention this at the time of booking and usually arrangements can be made to limit the discomfort or modify the treatment.

Can anyone have a Swedish Massage?
Yes. Swedish Massage is a relaxing and rejuvinating massage rather than deep tissue or manipulative so it's ideal for anyone wanting to push away those daily aches and pains. The massage itself works from top to toe. For anyone who doesn't like a full body massage then part body (ie arms neck shoulders or legs & feet) can also be booked, as can a simply but highly relaxing back massage.

Can anyone have an Indian Head Massage?
Unless you have had a recent head, neck or back injury or a disorder of the nervous system, then yes, Indian Head Massage is available to you. Indian Head Massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. The aim of the massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.

What’s the difference between Foot and Hand Reflexology?
Foot reflexology is the more traditional reflexology or the one people will be used to receiving. Hand reflexology is based on exactly the same principle and is ideal for people who may suffer from arthritis of the feet or who’s feet and/or ankles show a contra-indication, i.e. severe bruising or swelling, broken skin, veruccas etc or for those who feel their feet are particularly sensitive or they are uncomfortable about having their feet worked on.

Can anyone have Reflexology?
In the main yes. There are some restrictions or contra indications to reflexology, for example undiagnosed swelling or bruising of the feet or some medical conditions which may mean that you will need to seek your GP’s approval before a treatment can begin, but all of this will be discussed during the consultation. Be sure to be honest with the therapist as an existing medical condition does not preclude you from having Reflexology but may change the way the therapy is administered.

Pregnancy & Massage
Where there is a history of miscarriage, any form of massage should be avoided during the first 3 months of pregnancy, other than this, it is perfectly safe for pregnant women to have reflexology, swedish massage and indian head massage, indeed each of these treatments can help with some symptoms such as aching back or legs and sciatic pain. Reflexology can also be useful at inducing labour, however, this will only ever be attempted at full term.
